The Second Forum of Young Religious Leaders took place in Astana as part of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. The event brought together more than 150 participants, including clergy, experts, scholars, and public figures. Discussions focused on the pressing challenges of our time — from climate change to social conflicts and rising intolerance. Special attention was given to promoting spiritual values and fostering interfaith dialogue. Participants agreed that in today’s world, the role of youth as guarantors of sustainable development, and of spiritual diplomacy as a bridge between cultures and religions, is more important than ever. The forum concluded with the adoption of a joint statement, in which young leaders affirmed their readiness to dedicate their efforts toward building a just and secure future.
«As
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has emphasized, in these difficult times we
must build bridges, not walls. This is a conscious choice of our nation.
Humanity is therefore in urgent need of new ideas and approaches to meet the
pressing challenges of our time. And it is
you, the young leaders, who will be called upon to confront the toughest
problems of the 21st century. This can only be achieved through open, honest, and
trust-based dialogue,» said Maulen Ashimbayev, Chairman of the
Kazakh Senate and Head of
the Secretariat of the Congress
of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.
