An international exhibition, Eco Expo Central
Asia, was held in Tashkent as part of the ‘Year of Environmental Protection and
Green Economy.’ The event brought together experts, company representatives,
and officials from government and international organizations representing more
than 30 countries. The exhibition served as an important platform for dialogue
on key areas of green transformation, climate resilience, and resource
conservation, as well as for sharing experiences and advanced environmental
practices. Special attention was given to the sustainable development of the
Aral Sea region, green construction, and youth engagement in the region’s
environmental agenda. Participants showcased solutions in green energy,
innovations in water resource management and waste processing, along with
AI-based technologies and advanced green developments. According to organizers,
participation in Eco Expo provides access to new markets and contributes to the
establishment of strategic partnerships.
«It can be confidently stated that Uzbekistan is
keeping pace with international institutions and European standards in the areas
of ecology, environmental protection, and climate change, moving toward a
cleaner and more sustainable future. Environmental issues are being addressed
at the highest level. In January of this year, the Head of State adopted a
national program aimed at improving the environmental situation,» noted Vyacheslav
Shi-Xian, Deputy General Director of the State Ecological Expertise Center, Uzbekistan.
«We are very impressed to see that Uzbekistan
leads the adoption of you know concept for green development for the region and
we are very happy to support this initiative to accelerate green climate action
in Uzbekistan,» said Stella Seung Yeon Lee, head of the regional office of the
Global Green Growth Institute.
