SCO countries sign concept for developing New Economic Dialogue in Pakistan

The countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) have signed a concept for developing a New Economic Dialogue, one of eight documents adopted at the 23rd meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the SCO member states in Pakistan’s capital. The participants discussed implementing agreements reached by the countries’ presidents during the SCO summit earlier this year in Astana and explored ways to deepen cooperation in various sectors. Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov emphasized the need for mutually beneficial cooperation in the development of digitalization and online trade, modernization of existing railways and roads, energy, and investment. He also highlighted the strengthening of ties between educational and healthcare institutions, which will contribute to the sustainable development and prosperity of the Shanghai Ten countries. Last year, Kazakhstan’s trade turnover with SCO countries approached $67 billion, marking a 6 percent increase.
