President Tokayev summarizes Kazakhstan’s chairmanship in SCO

During the SCO Council of Heads of State meeting, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced that Kazakhstan has fully achieved all the goals and objectives set at the previous summit. He expressed sincere gratitude to all countries for their support and active participation in implementing Kazakhstan’s initiatives. Around 150 events of various levels have been held during the country’s chairmanship. Additionally, the Organization’s contractual base has been expanded with 60 new documents, and the number of partners has grown.

«Let me present proposals aimed at giving new impetus to our multilateral cooperation. In our view, the primary objective remains the collective promotion of a peaceful and harmonious development agenda. In commemoration of the UN’s 80th anniversary and the 20th anniversary of SCO-UN cooperation, I propose we adopt a UN General Assembly resolution supporting our initiative ‘On World Unity for a Just Peace and Harmony’,» Tokayev said.
