Over the next two years, the East Kazakhstan region plans to
attract 1.5 trillion tenge in investments. In 2024, capital investments in the
region increased by 116%, while construction volumes grew by a quarter. Last
year, 400,000 square meters of housing were commissioned, with plans to build
over 700,000 square meters by 2027. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was briefed
on the socio-economic development of the region by its governor, Nurymbet
Saktaganov. He reported on support measures for small and medium-sized
businesses and infrastructure modernization. According to Saktaganov, special
attention is being given to tourism development, digitalization, transport and
logistics, and the agro-industrial
complex. Additionally, the national projects «Modernization of Rural
Healthcare» and «Comfortable School» are being implemented in the region. New
educational programs are being introduced in construction, agriculture,
aviation, energy, and water transport. The regional preferential mortgage
program «Shygys Mamany» is also being launched.
«Last year, we opened 46 new production facilities,
including 10 projects from the national pool. This year, another 50 facilities
worth 85 billion tenge are planned for launch. A regional project office has
been established, and corresponding economic growth plans have been approved
for all cities and districts. The production and consumption balance has been
analyzed and adjusted to align with our export strategy. The Head of State has
given us a number of instructions to further develop the East Kazakhstan region
and improve the quality of life for its residents,» Saktaganov said.
