Today young people in Kazakhstan were awarded the Medals of the First President within the eponymous project. It was launched in 2020 at the initiative of the Foundation of the First President Nursultan Nazarbayev and a Corporate Fund “Academy of the First President of Kazakhstan”. More than 10,000 people took part in the project from all regions of the country this year, and 23 percent of them are villagers. These are young people aged between 14 to 29 recognized as the best in one of seven sectors: sports, talents and skills, reading books, national heritage, volunteering, hiking and working practice. The program consists of three levels: bronze, silver and gold.
“We received 17,000 applications, of which 10,000 children directly participated in the program. 3,535 people became bronze medal winners. Today, 120 students are being awarded in the capital. Silver medalists will receive their awards in July, while the gold medalists in December once the results are released,” Zhanat Aitbayeva, Head of Leadership Development Centre, Academy of the First President of Kazakhstan.
“The project helped me to get to know myself from a new perspective, I discovered my talents in sports. And in the course of my volunteer work, I taught my brother German using my own methodology,” Alinur Orynbekuly, Bronze Medal Winner.
Organizers said that the winners in their regions will receive gifts from the local administrations and education departments.
