Parliament members ready to implement Kazakh President’s initiatives

Kazakhstan’s economy requires transformative solutions and new approaches. This specifically applies to the development of the manufacturing industry, the optimal use of logistics and transit transport capabilities, and the active implementation of modern technologies. At an extended government meeting, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that the country must maintain its status as a «middle power». To achieve this, practical achievements in the economy, investments, science and technology are necessary. According to Senate members, the country holds significant potential for new transformations. The Parliament is making every effort to support them by developing and adopting new legislative initiatives.

«The corresponding instructions have been given to the government, including the ministries, particularly regarding production diversification. To date, Kazakhstan has the full potential to create breakthrough projects in the economy. This is the creation of new science-intensive industries utilizing technologies such as those mentioned by the Head of State, including artificial intelligence,» noted Andrei Lukin, member of the Senate, the Upper House of the Kazakh Parliament.

The Head of State also gave important instructions on reforming the housing fund management system. Last year, the country managed to build a record 19 million square meters of housing. However, the key focus is not on quantity, but primarily on quality and accessibility, the President noted. To achieve this, it is necessary to digitize all processes in the sector, from urban planning to the commissioning of facilities. This will be facilitated by the development of a unified information system by the end of the year.

«We have made changes and additions to the current legislation, specifically to the Law on Housing Relations, where we have provided a solution to the issues related to the acquisition of housing, both for socially vulnerable segments of the population and for civil servants and other categories of citizens. The issue of housing provision, I believe, has always been and remains one of the top priorities. Therefore, Otbasy Bank will begin actively working in this area this year, with housing centers in both city administrations and regional centers, as part of the adopted legislative changes,»  Lukin added.
