The Turkistan region has attracted 64 billion tenge in
investments in its tourism sector since the beginning of the year. Business
interest in the sector is fostering the region’s growing appeal as a tourist
destination. Three key areas have been identified for the development of the
sector: historical and educational tourism, eco-tourism, and health and
wellness tourism. Currently, 47 projects are underway, including the
construction, expansion, and modernization of resort areas, water parks, and
five-star hotels.
«In particular, the construction of the Medina Palace Hotel
has been completed, and interior finishing is currently underway. The hotel is
expected to open next year during the tourist season. Additionally, restoration
work is ongoing at the Aksu-Zhabagly sanatorium. In 2025, projects such as a
virtual center for national dishes, a crafts center, and the Kultobe settlement
will also be implemented to attract tourists,» said Nurdaulet Medeuov, Head of
the Tourism Department of the Turkistan region.
More than 400,000 tourists have visited the Turkistan region
since the beginning of the year. According to the E-Qonaq system, around 20,000
foreign travelers visited the region in the first 10 months of this year.
