More than 5,000 grants and over 1,500
microcredits have been allocated to young Kazakh entrepreneurs since the start of
the year. State support is provided for the implementation of new
business ideas. As noted by Kazakh Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov at the Government’s
meeting, young business people are eligible to receive preferential loans at
2.5 percent per annum on a competitive basis. Such measures will increase the
share of SMEs, as well as influence the creation of new jobs and youth
employment. To this end, information and awareness-raising work on obtaining
state grants or microcredits for the development of businesses has been
intensified.
“All these measures are aimed at
improving the quality of the population’s life. In this regard, I would like to
draw your attention to the following important issues. Firstly, regional governors
need to control the implementation of regional employment maps and micro-crediting.
Special attention should be paid to the employment of young people in permanent
jobs. Secondly, the country’s Ministry of Finance, together with the Ministry
of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, should work out the issue of
redistributing funds for microcrediting young people,” said Smailov.
