Today at the Akorda presidential palace, heroes of peacetime were honored. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated the nation’s rescuers on their professional holiday, emphasizing the strategic importance of their work for the country’s security and the well-being of its people. He noted that this mission is both highly honorable and deeply responsible, and underscored that rescuers have borne the greatest responsibility during the natural disasters the country has faced in recent years.
«While visiting regions affected by emergencies, I witnessed your truly heroic efforts firsthand. I can state with complete confidence that thanks to the high professionalism and unwavering dedication of our civil protection specialists, we have been able to overcome all challenges together. Over the past five years, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations have saved around 225,000 lives. They have also participated in humanitarian missions abroad, once again demonstrating their exceptional professionalism and contributing to strengthening our country’s international standing,» Tokayev said.
The Head of State emphasized that the
government places great importance on strengthening the civil protection
sector. Five years ago, the Ministry of Emergency Situations was reestablished,
funding for the sector was increased 2.5 times, and its material and technical
resources were expanded. The salaries of rescuers have also increased by nearly
80%. President Tokayev
outlined key priorities —
introducing digital technologies into operations, coordinating the actions of
rescue services, and engaging with the public. At the conclusion of the event,
he presented state awards to 30 Kazakh citizens for their courage and
dedication in the line of duty.
