Kazakhstan’s national team plays first home match in Davis Cup in four years

The Kazakhstan national tennis team faced Denmark as part of the Davis Cup World Group I, with the match concluding in a 1-3 win for the visitors. Young tennis player Beibit Zhukayev claimed victory in the final match. He made a successful debut in the Davis Cup, earning his first victory as part of the national team. According to Vice President of the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation Dias Doskarayev, this is just the beginning of a long journey. The primary focus is now on developing homegrown talents, with plans to bring more young Kazakh tennis players into the national team.

«Yes, of course, we expect that in three-four years, a stronger team will represent Kazakhstan in the Davis Cup. We are renewing and rejuvenating the team, preserving the continuity of generations. Beibit Zhukayev and Timofey Skatov are already performing well. I think that in the next two years we will add Amir Omarkhanov to the team. Then our team will be very strong and will continue its winning streak,» said Dias Doskarayev, Vice President of Kazakhstan Tennis Federation.
