OTS member states deepen electoral cooperation

Turkic countries are deepening electoral cooperation. The heads of the central election authorities of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Türkiye, and Uzbekistan, signed a statute on the establishment of an advisory platform during a meeting in Turkistan. Notably, this initiative had been put forward by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the anniversary summit of the OTS in Astana. The consultative platform is intended to ensure systematic cooperation and the exchange of experience among the countries on matters related to electoral law.

«We have the opportunity for rapid and efficient information exchange, enabling us to quickly come together, hold roundtables and conferences, and conduct research of mutual interest. We are united by many things, including our shared roots, origins, and the development path each of our countries is following. We also face common challenges that we are working on together. And all of this is for our voters, who must have access to free, inclusive, fair, and transparent elections,» noted the Chairman of the Kazakh Central Election Commission Nurlan Abdirov.
