The countries of the Turkic world will create a unified digital platform for transport and logistics. The digitalization of transport corridors, the integration of artificial intelligence technologies, and the strengthening of economic ties were on the agenda of the 19th meeting of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States in Almaty. Participants also reviewed the outcomes of the informal summit in Turkistan and exchanged proposals to expand cooperation. The implementation of such projects would help boost mutual trade volumes and enhance the region’s transit potential, they noted.
«Today, the
combined economy of the OTS member states ranks 11th in the world, with a total
GDP of approximately $2.5 trillion. Intra-regional trade has exceeded $1
trillion, accounting for around 7% of total trade, up from just 3% a few years
ago. These figures demonstrate the rapid growth of economic integration and
trade cooperation among the member states,» noted OTS Secretary General Kubanychbek Omuraliev.
