Olympic medalists welcomed at Almaty airport

Olympic champions have begun returning home from France. At Almaty airport, hundreds of fans greeted the athletes with cheers and applause as they arrived after representing the country and raising Kazakhstan’s national flag on the Olympic podium. Among them are Yeldos Smetov, the first Olympic judo champion in the country’s history, bronze medalist in judo Gusman Kyrgyzbayev, and the national judo team along with their coaches.
