On March 21, a one-day lockdown will be introduced in the Kazakh capital of Nur-Sultan, press service of the city’s Mayor’s Office reported. Thus, the work of all shopping and entertainment centers, indoor markets and sports facilities, public service centers and Kazpost offices will be suspended in the city. Only pharmacies and grocery stores will be open. Public transport will also be suspended in the capital. In addition, fitness centers and clubs, sports and recreation facilities, saunas and spa centers are banned on Saturdays and Sundays. Such measures are due to the unstable epidemiological situation in the city, Chief Sanitary Doctor of Nur-Sultan Sarkhat Beissenova said. COVID-19 cases in the city are growing every day.
