Today, Kazakh residents are voting in the referendum on amendments to the Constitution. More than 11.7 million citizens have the right to participate in the referendum on amendments to the Constitution. More than 10,000 poll stations opened across Kazakhstan. At the same time, 65 poll stations are located abroad, specifically in 52 countries. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev voiced a proposal to hold the nationwide referendum at a session of Kazakhstan People’s Assembly. The corresponding Decree was signed by the Head of State on May 5th. A nationwide referendum was held twice in Kazakhstan. The first referendum was held 27 years ago.
