New Year events and activities in Nur-Sultan

Only a few hours left until the New Year! How to celebrate it in Kazakhstan’s capital? If you have already prepared, purchased groceries, decorated tree, you can cheer yourself up outside the house. It’s not just about walking through the fabulously decorated capital and sliding down the snow hills. There will be a festive program for residents and visitors of the city in almost all districts of Nur-Sultan.

“The evening program from 10.00 p.m. to 2.00 a.m. includes online broadcast of the congratulation of the Head of State, organization of a concert with the participation of famous Kazakh pop celebrities and stage performances of Santa Claus and Snow Maiden,” said Akerke Zhumanbayeva, Head of Culture Department, Nur-Sultan city.

The fabulous journey through interesting events will continue after the chimes. All museums in the city welcome children and adults during the January holidays. There will also be an immersion in the New Year’s miracle in the “Zhastar” theatre. A vivid show was prepared by artists of the Circus Capital.

“It will be interesting for children. They will have the opportunity to watch the New Year's fairy tale ‘Cruella and the New Year's Elixir’. Our theatres prepared new plays, new scripts, new costumes and new artists. And I think it would be interesting for our children to go to the theater during their school break and this holiday season. During the pandemic, we all stayed at home and had little communication with each other. So I think that the events that the Mayor’s Office of Nur-Sultan is offering to residents and guests of the city will be much to their liking,” said Akerke Zhumanbayeva.

According to the organizers, a festive New Year's story, full of miracles, magic and vivid emotions awaits spectators! They stressed that despite the holiday, they had not forgotten the sanitary rules. Therefore, city residents should also not forget about the social distancing and mask wearing regime, the Mayor’s Office of Nur-Sultan said.
