Oriental prints on modern carriers, canvases depicting national fairy-tale heroes in the style of digital drawing, women’s accessories in ethnic patterns. All these are original works of one of the winners of the “100 new faces of Kazakhstan” national project – an artist, designer and contemporary illustration artist Aigerim Karibayeva. Each of her works literally speaks of the importance of preserving love and respect for native culture and history.
“Household items, interior items, clothes. It is incredibly beautiful for me to embroider a coat, which is also called shapan or some kind of shoes. When I convey this in my works and in such a modern way, I understand that I draw attention of both our compatriots and foreign customers to my culture through this amazing art,” said Aigerim Karibayeva, artist.
The peculiar and rich culture of the Great Steppe and the historical heritage of the nomads have long been sources of inexhaustible inspiration for Aigerim. Her paintings, which number is over 100, also reflect the life of the Kazakh people in different periods from antiquity to the present, national color, and a rave of modern and trendy colors. In addition, the demand for the master’s works is growing around the world.
“To date, I sold works from my website to more than 50 countries and this is my main mission. I popularize my culture through my work. The works were sent to all the countries of Europe, the United States, Asia, all our neighboring countries. A large number was sent to the U.S., London, Paris, and recently – to Hong Kong,” said Aigerim Karibayeva, artist.
Aigerim believes that participation in the “100 new faces” project gives people in Kazakhstan an opportunity to show themselves, their love for their native origins, culture, telling their story of success and the path to it.
