New commemorative coins from the «Outstanding events and people» series have been issued in Kazakhstan celebrating the 100th birth anniversaries of Rakhimzhan Koshkarbayev, a People’s Hero of Kazakhstan and World War II veteran, as well as Kemal Akishev, a renowned domestic archaeologist and scholar.
«The coins are produced by the
Kazakhstan Mint from a nickel-silver alloy. They weigh 15 grams, have a
diameter of 33 mm, and are minted in Brilliant Uncirculated quality. They have
a face value of 200 tenge and a mintage of 5,000 pieces each. The coins will be
sold through the National Bank's online store,» said
Almat Bassenov, Chief Designer of the National Bank of
Kazakhstan.
