The countries of the Turkic world are set to create a unified film and media platform. A corresponding memorandum was signed at the International Congress «The Heritage of Great Ancestors – the Foundation of the Third Renaissance» in Uzbekistan. The streaming platform will aim to promote the spiritual and rich cultural heritage of the Turkic countries. The platform will feature movies, documentaries, news, programs, and e-books of the TURKSOY member countries.
«The congress brought together numerous scholars, media professionals, film experts, producers, and directors from Turkic-speaking countries. We have established a streaming platform that will be filled with content aimed at the spiritual upbringing of the youth of the Turkic world,» said Firdavs Abdukhalikov, Director of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan.
Additionally, filmmakers intend to collaborate on joint projects. Several scripts for films about the lives of historical figures of the Turkic world have already been selected. Filming is set to commence soon.
«The Kazakhfilm studio has presented a joint project titled «Al-Farabi», dedicated to the life of our common ancestor, the great scholar historically known as the Second Teacher. The film will be produced using the latest technologies available in Kazakhstan and across the Turkic world,» said Bekbolat Shekerov, Editor-in-Chief at Kazakhfilm studio.
«There is a very interesting project that we plan to work on with filmmakers from Kazakhstan, our brotherly nation. It is about the great writer Mukhtar Auezov, who made an enormous contribution to the development of literature and culture not only in Kazakhstan but across the entire Turkic world. He is as magnificent as the towering Pamir Mountains!» said Furkat Usmanov, Director of the Center for the Development of National Cinematography of Uzbekistan.
The filmmakers intend to present the results of their
joint work at the Korkut Ata Turkic World Film Festival, which will be held
next year in Kazakhstan. Notably, this traditional competition is held annually
in the cultural capital of the Turkic world, which will be Aktau in 2025.
