Saudi Arabia, the country with the largest economy in the Middle East, intends to actively develop joint projects with Kazakhstan. This year marks the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations. During this time, they have established close economic and political ties. The visit of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Jeddah provided an additional impetus for their cooperation. This was stated by Faisal bin Hanif Al-Qahtani, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Kazakhstan, in an exclusive interview with Silk Way TV channel. In particular, the two countries will enhance their partnership in the field of green energy development. They are implementing a joint project to build a wind farm in the Zhetisu region, with the Saudi company allocating $1.5 billion in investments for the construction of the renewable energy facility. Other areas are also seen as promising for collaboration.
«The agro-industrial complex is a promising sector for our cooperation. Talks were held with the President of Kazakhstan during the visit of the Saudi Minister of Agriculture to the country. Recently, the head of the Saudi Fund for Development also visited Kazakhstan and met with President Tokayev. The parties discussed the implementation of joint projects in the agricultural sector. We look forward to close cooperation in the area of food security. Kazakhstan has the potential to contribute to global food security,» the Ambassador said.
