Kazakh goods will gain easier access to the Mongolian market. Favorable conditions for promoting domestic products were created following the ratification of the Interim Trade Agreement by the Mazhilis, the lower house of the Kazakh Parliament, between the EAEU member states and Mongolia. The document is expected to give new impetus to the growth of mutual trade. It covers 367 product categories for each side, for which customs duties will be either eliminated or significantly reduced.
«The
agreement is concluded for a three-year term, with automatic extension for an
additional three years. After the initial period, the parties, in line with the
agreement, will initiate negotiations on a free trade agreement. The document
also covers technical, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, customs
cooperation, and measures to protect the domestic market,» said
Zhanel Kushukova, Kazakh Vice Minister of
Trade and Integration.
