New renewable energy facility to be built in Zhambyl region

Another wind power plant will be built in Kazakhstan. The project has already been developed, and the construction of the renewable energy facility is scheduled for next year in the Zhambyl region. The planned capacity of the power plant is one gigawatt. An advanced energy storage system is expected to be installed there, enabling the storage of excess electricity and its supply to the grid during peak demand hours. Currently, the share of green energy in Kazakhstan exceeds 6% of the total energy balance. By 2030, the country plans to increase the share of clean energy to 15%, and in another 20 years - to 50%. In total, 156 renewable energy facilities are operating across the country, with the Almaty, Zhambyl, and Akmola regions leading in their number.
