March 15 - historic day for Kazakhstan

Senate Chairman Maulen Ashimbayev cast his vote in the referendum on the adoption of the new Constitution. He voted at a polling station located in the National Library building. According to him, every vote plays an important role in determining the future development of the country, and the referendum provides citizens with the opportunity to participate directly in making decisions of national importance.

«The people are the source of power. Participation in the referendum therefore gives every citizen the opportunity to exercise their rights and take part in determining the country’s strategic course of development. Moreover, the referendum reflects the Head of State’s principle of a «Listening State» noted Maulen Ashimbayev, Chairman of the Senate, the Upper House of the Kazakh Parliament.


Mazhilis Chairman Yerlan Koshanov emphasized that participation in the national referendum is an important step for the country’s future. He cast his vote at polling station No. 128 in Astana. Koshanov expressed confidence that voting across the country would be conducted fairly and transparently, and noted that this day will forever remain a part of Kazakhstan’s history.

«Today is an important day. The people of Kazakhstan are to decide whether to adopt the new Constitution. I am sure March 15 will hold a special place in our country’s history. I have cast my vote and have full confidence that the referendum will be conducted fairly, openly, and honestly. Having visited various regions across the country, we can feel the mood and support of the people,» said Yerlan Koshanov, Chairman of the Mazhilis, the Lower House of the Kazakh Parliament.

Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov also took part in the voting. He visited polling station No. 130, located in the Dinmukhamed Kunayev School in the capital. About 3,000 residents of nearby residential complexes in the Yessil district can exercise their civic duty at this polling station.
