The UN Center for Sustainable Development for Central Asia and Afghanistan will open in Almaty. The UN General Assembly unanimously adopted a resolution to establish it, initiated by Kazakhstan on behalf of the Central Asian states. A total of 152 UN member states supported the resolution as co-sponsors, underscoring the initiative’s significance and broad international consensus. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed gratitude to all partners for their support. According to him, the hub will become a key platform for coordinating international efforts in the region.
