Kazakhstan and Estonia are set to reach a new level of cooperation. The parties plan to actively develop trade, economic and business ties, increase the volume of exports and imports. Estonia is ready to share its experience in various sectors, which is one of the world’s best practices. The prospects for the development of cooperation were discussed at a Kazakh-Estonian business forum held online. The meeting participants noted the existing significant potential of partnership of the countries in the transit and logistics sector, in expanding investment opportunities, as well as in implementing projects in healthcare, education, agriculture, IT and green technologies. To date, over 100 enterprises with the participation of Estonian capital are successfully working in Kazakhstan.
“Estonia is a very important partner for Kazakhstan in the Baltic region. For us, one of the priorities is the development of trade and economic ties by increasing the volume of exports and imports, expanding their range. We want to fully implement the potential of economic cooperation with Estonia, establish new relations. We believe that such business forums lay the foundation for sustaining the dynamism and developing business on a full scale with personal meetings, trips and visits,” said Nurlan Seitimov, Kazakh Ambassador to Estonia.
“Despite COVID-19, exports increased last year, while imports from Kazakhstan reduced slightly. Export is progressing in the field of services. The industries where we work very closely are logistics and information technology. Services here are developing very quickly. Investments are very important to us too. At the moment, we see that investments from Kazakhstan to Estonia amount to somewhere around 54-55 million, while from Estonian companies – 12 million,” added Heiti Mäemees, Estonian Ambassador to Kazakhstan.
