A marathon featuring
over 200 Kazakh Santas and Snow Maidens kicked off in Ridder, Eastern
Kazakhstan, marking the start of a three-day celebration. Participants traveled
from across the country to spread New Year cheer through a variety of festive
events. There were a mass ski race, a vibrant parade of beloved holiday
characters, and the ceremonial lighting of Ridder’s main New Year tree. The
marathon will continue at the Altai Alps ski resort, where Kazakh Santas and
Snow Maidens will greet guests at multiple locations, creating a festive
atmosphere. The festival’s culmination will feature the grand opening of a
Kazakh Santa residence in Oskemen’s left-bank park.
«I want to thank all the organizers of this
event. I wish all Kazakh Santas a pleasant start and great victories! Happy
holidays to all!» said Santa Mikhail Danilov.
«There are great hopes
for the new 2025 year. The most important thing is to achieve peace on Earth.
All the children are excited about today’s holiday, and even we adults are
happy. We see such festivities for the first time, and I truly want to see,
hear, and participate in them,» shared Valentina Vladimirova, resident of
Ridder city.
