Opera arias, pop hits, film d’auteur and museum exhibitions - the Days of Kazakh Culture, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the country’s Independence, are being held in Kyrgyzstan. Movies of Kazakh filmmakers were the induction to the event program. The retrospective includes films about historical heritage, moral controversy, and an animated quest. Screenings of spectacular films were organized in the halls of the Manas Cinema in Bishkek.
“We can say that there are no two nations closer to each other than Kazakh and Kyrgyz. We are the closest two peoples. We don’t need an interpreter to understand each other. We have the same history, religion and traditions, it’s all the same. And, of course, I would like to wish that in the year of the 30th anniversary of the independence of our countries, such wonderful events that unite our nations take place more often,” said Aktoty Raimkulova, Kazakh Minister of Culture and Sports.
The official opening of the Days of Kazakh Culture in Kyrgyzstan was a gala concert in the national philharmonic hall. It has to be said that Kyrgyz people are closely familiar with the work of Kazakh performers and therefore warmly welcomed songs that have already become their favorite. Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov was the guest of honor at the gala concert.
“About 400 cultural figures from Kazakhstan have come to our country. They are singers, musicians, theatre and film actors, historians and artists. We are delighted to welcome all our distinguished guests. This is a very big event for us, because culture is not just about the present day. We will have a constant cultural dialogue, organize joint concerts, performances and exhibitions, because we have many things in common,” added Kairat Imanaliev, Kyrgyz Minister of Culture.
For art connoisseurs, the opera ‘Abai’ by Akhmet Zhubanov and Latif Khamidi will be performed by artists of the Abai State Opera and Ballet Theater in the hall of the Abdylas Maldybaev Kyrgyz National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater. Concurrently, Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts will display more than 70 unique archaeological artifacts from the Central State Museum of Kazakhstan, as well as paintings from the storerooms of Abilkhan Kasteyev State Museum of Arts. The exhibits reflect various aspects of cultural traditions of nomads, the creators of the Great Steppe civilization.
