Another record has been set in Kazakhstan. Craftsmen from Turkistan created
the largest saukele (traditional Kazakh bridal headwear), standing five
meters tall, with a veil measuring nearly 600 meters. The national women’s
headpiece was decorated with ornaments of more than 30 Turkic peoples. The
author of the project emphasized the cultural significance of this traditional
garment. According to Akmaral Dauylbayeva, it reflects the unity of the people
and spiritual continuity.
«We made a saukele five meters and 20 centimeters tall so that it would seem to reach the sky. We also spent a long time designing the ornament. At its core is the image of a woman - a mother. In her honor, we created a pattern in the shape of the tree of life,» said project author Akmaral Dauylbayeva.
«No one in the world has ever created such a large headpiece before.
That’s why today we completed all the registration procedures to have this
record included in the third World Book of Records. The book itself is expected
to be published within the next three to four months,» noted Kuandyk Kudaibergenov, official representative of
Kazakhstan’s Book of Records.
