Kazakhstan’s new Constitution enters into force

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev addressed the citizens on the occasion of the new Constitution entering into force. Congratulating the people of Kazakhstan on this event, he called it the beginning of a new chapter in the country’s history. According to the Head of State, the Basic Law will provide the basis for sweeping political and economic reforms, as well as the modernization of the governance system. President Tokayev recalled that the adoption of the new Constitution was endorsed by the citizens in a nationwide referendum held on March 15, noting that this decision has set Kazakhstan’s development trajectory for many years to come. He emphasized that the new Constitution provides for a comprehensive renewal of the political system and lays the foundation for further transformations in the country.
