Today, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, congratulated servicemen and personnel of the law enforcement agencies at a solemn ceremony on Defender of the Fatherland Day and Victory Day. The Head of State emphasized that security, strengthening the country’s defense capability, and enhancing the prestige of military service are key state priorities. He also noted that the country can fully rely on the strength of its Armed Forces.
«Our servicemen effectively carry out the most complex tasks, making a significant contribution to strengthening global stability. Kazakhstan is the only country in the CIS to receive a UN mandate to conduct independent peacekeeping missions. This demonstrates the high standing of Kazakhstan’s Armed Forces on the international stage,» President Tokayev noted.
The state supports military personnel, as well as employees of law enforcement and special agencies, through a comprehensive set of measures. Particular attention is being paid to strengthening the personnel base. For example, top graduates of military universities will be awarded the rank of senior lieutenant, with the relevant amendments currently under consideration in Parliament. In addition, 2026 and 2027 are to be dedicated to improving the quality of military education, The Head of State noted. He once again emphasized that Kazakhstan is a peace-loving country. The President said that all conflicts must be resolved through diplomatic means and negotiations.
«Kazakhstan will continue to strengthen friendly relations with all countries. These unshakable principles are clearly enshrined in our new Constitution. However, this does not mean that we can remain idle. Our country must be prepared to prevent various challenges and counter any threats. Therefore, we need to enhance our defense capabilities and continue, above all, the technological modernization of the Armed Forces. This is a requirement of the current unstable and turbulent times,» President Tokayev added.
President Tokayev paid special
attention to the significance of the new Constitution as a guarantee of
sovereignty, territorial integrity, and societal unity. He also emphasized the
importance of constructive patriotism. In this regard, heroes who have
dedicated themselves to serving the country and its people will become role models for the younger
generation. Their
names will now be used not only for naming streets and institutions, but also
for departmental awards. One of the first will be a medal named after police
captain Gaziz Baitasov, who died 15 years ago while apprehending a suicide
bomber. The glory of heroes does not fade with time. Frontline
soldier Kenzhebai Madenov took part in raising the Victory
Banner in Berlin. Restoring historical justice, President Tokayev signed a decree
awarding him the title of Halyk Kaharmany posthumously and presented his son,
Makhambet Kenzhebaiuly,
with the Gold Star and the Otan
Order. The President also awarded
participants of the ceremony with state decorations and conferred higher
military and special ranks.
