The legislation of the Central Asian countries in the field of AI and
digitalization should be harmonized. It is important that they are based on
similar principles and approaches, stated Maulen Ashimbayev, Chairman of the Senate, the Upper House of the Kazakh Parliament, at the third Central Asian Inter-Parliamentary Forum in Bishkek. Ashimbayev emphasized the need to strengthen
the legislative framework to expand trade and economic ties among the
countries. According to him, holding the forum is not only a symbol of the
development of inter-parliamentary relations, but also a tribute to history, fraternal bonds,
and a shared aspiration for the future.
«If the first forum laid the
foundation for the parliamentary dimension of integration, and the second
expanded its agenda, then the third forum demonstrates that we are moving
toward more concrete and substantive work. The heads of our states have set a high
standard for cooperation and partnership in the Central Asian region. Our key
task as parliamentarians is to contribute to the effective implementation of
all agreements reached by the Presidents,» Ashimbayev said.
Members of the Kazakh delegation, led by the Speaker of the Senate, also participated in the ninth Kazakh-Kyrgyz intelligentsia forum. The participants emphasized the importance of preserving cultural heritage and literary works in the digital space. In addition, a bilateral meeting was held between Maulen Ashimbayev and the Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, during which the parties discussed the current state and future prospects of interparliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
