The nationwide film lecture series «From Chronicle to the Future», marking the 30th anniversary of the Kazakh President's TV and Radio Complex, continues its tour across Kazakhstan, with its latest stop in Oskemen. Audiences watched a selection of documentaries about the people, history, and contemporary life of Kazakhstan. The film «The Man from Kulaly Island» drew the greatest interest. It tells the story of Pyotr Lupenkov, head of a hydrometeorological station, who has lived and worked on a small island in the Caspian Sea for over 30 years. Following the screening, East Kazakhstan Technical University proposed establishing cooperation with the Documentary Film Center of the Kazakh President's TV and Radio Complex. The university plans to hold regular screenings for students, beginning with «The Man from Kulaly Island» — a story of professional dedication, responsibility, and commitment to one’s calling.
«We want this kind of cooperation so our students can see the real person behind the profession, understand what motivates them, and learn how they came to choose this path. That is truly important,» said Saule Rakhmetullina, rector of the East Kazakhstan Technical University.
«Today, many young people associate success mainly with material wealth, and that's understandable. But it’s equally important to show them that the real heroes are those who have found their true calling and dedicated decades to honest, selfless work. They are the true heroes of our time—people the younger generation should look up to and draw inspiration from,» said audience member Eldar Toleubekov.
