President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with the President of Tajikistan
Emomali Rahmon who arrived in Astana
to participate in the Regional Ecological Summit and the meeting of the Council of Heads of State–Founders of the International Fund for
Saving the Aral Sea. The parties discussed the prospects of Kazakh-Tajik
relations and agreed to elevate the level of strategic partnership between the
two countries. The meeting emphasized the importance of implementing previously
reached high-level agreements. Kassym-Jomart
Tokayev and Emomali Rahmon also exchanged views on current issues on the
regional and international agenda.
