Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan strengthen economic cooperation

Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, including in the trade and economic spheres, is actively developing. The two countries are expanding and strengthening collaboration across a range of sectors, including gas, transport and logistics, energy, construction, and infrastructure. In recent years, bilateral trade has consistently exceeded $500 million. Both sides have expressed their intention to double this figure to $1 billion. According to Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov, the meetings of the heads of state, which are held on a regular basis, provide strong momentum for expanding ties between the two countries.

«During the talks with Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the President of Turkmenistan, a wide range of issues was discussed, focusing on further enhancing the potential of our cooperation across various spheres. Today, I would like to once again emphasize that political and diplomatic interaction between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan is steadily advancing. Trade and economic relations are now taking on a new, qualitative dimension. Naturally, our shared history, culture, traditions, and customs form a strong foundation for the development of these relations in the modern era,» Meredov said.
