This year, the construction of two enterprises
will commence in Kazakhstan with the support of major Chinese agro-industrial
companies. These include a monosodium glutamate production plant through deep
corn processing and a wheat processing complex. The projects are valued at $350
million and $650 million, respectively. This was announced during a meeting reviewing
the implementation of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s directives on
attracting investment into the country’s economy. Additionally, 20 strategic
projects have been identified, with a total investment volume of $12 billion.
Around 1,200 projects have also been registered on the National Digital
Investment Platform. Significant efforts to support businesses are being
carried out by the Investment Headquarters. Over the past year, it has eliminated
more than 100 problematic issues of investors across various projects. Notably,
in 2024, Kazakhstan commissioned 230 investment projects worth 1.85 trillion
tenge.
«During an expanded meeting, the Head of State
noted that attracting investment is a critically important issue requiring more
efficient work without excessive bureaucracy. Government agencies, especially
regional administrations, must closely oversee project implementation. Governors
and ministers should address this issue on a daily basis. This is the main task
for today – investors’ issues must be resolved promptly,» noted Kazakh Prime
Minister Olzhas Bektenov.
