Kazakhstan tourism sees record-breaking growth

There is an increasing number of tourists in national parks and resorts of Kazakhstan, the country’s Ministry of Culture and Sports reported. The office projected that nearly two million people would visit national parks this year. According to the estimates in the first half of the year, the Burabai resort was visited by about 550,000 people, the Shymbulak resort – by approximately 240,000. This is almost 90,000 more than in previous summer season. Domestic tourism is flourishing as well, and very intensively, which cannot but rejoice. Since the beginning of the year, the number of tourists has exceeded 1,130,000. At least 11,000 people arrive in the country every week from abroad. Kazakhstan ranked 66th out of 117 countries in the World Economic Forum’s Travel and Tourism Development Index 2021.
