In 2025, Kazakhstan is set to launch a series of investment
projects, including 15 in the Turkistan region and 14 in Almaty. The Ministry
of Industry and Construction notes that once these projects reach full
capacity, the total production volume is expected to exceed two trillion tenge,
with import substitution estimated to total nearly 1.5 trillion tenge.
According to the ministry, key sectors of focus include mechanical engineering,
manufacturing, and ferrous metallurgy. Among the projects is the construction
of a new multi-brand automobile plant in Almaty, which will produce 90,000
passenger cars annually. Another automotive facility will be established in the
Kostanai region, with a production capacity of 70,000 KIA vehicles per year.
Additionally, plans are in place to modernize the production capacities of an
aluminum packaging plant in Shymkent. This project, through the introduction of
new technologies and products, is expected to enhance Kazakhstan’s industrial
potential. Furthermore, two plants will be built in the Atyrau and Abai
regions, specializing in the production of freight wagons and cardboard
packaging for liquid products.
