Kazakhstan strengthens its position in AI education

The integration of artificial intelligence into Kazakhstan’s education system will contribute to the development of an advanced digital ecosystem and strengthen the country’s position as a leading IT hub in the region. According to Paul Kim, Chairman of the International Expert Council at the World Bank, early AI education and the development of digital skills lay the foundation for a long-term national strategy. For example, China is developing educational platforms and automated assessment systems, the UAE is introducing AI as a mandatory school subject, Singapore is integrating these technologies across various disciplines, while South Korea is focusing on digital textbooks and AI assistants. The decree signed by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev turns strategic goals into practical action – from modernizing schools to ensuring the safe use of AI tools in the educational process.

«Whatever we do, everything has risks. And I think, the real risk in this day and age is not doing anything, not changing anything, or being slow, or being resistant to the evolution. What is less risky, in my view, is the use of AI in every processing, that’s involving the whole educational ecosystem from understanding students, understanding their interests, talents and gifts, which need to be identified and developed,» noted Paul Kim, Chairman of the International Expert Council at the World Bank, Professor at Stanford University.
