Within three years, Kazakhstan should become a
full-fledged digital country. This strategic task was set by President
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in his state-of-the-nation address Kazakhstan in the
Era of Artificial Intelligence. Based on large-scale digitalization and
active implementation of AI technologies, the Head of State said, the entire economy should be
modernized. Moreover, the introduction of AI and digital technologies should
become widespread – this is a key component of the country’s strategic course.
To this end, the Head of State first of all instructed to accelerate the
adoption of the Digital Code. To effectively implement the new technological
order, a Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development will be
established in Kazakhstan.
«The launch of a
supercomputer in our country is certainly a success, but it should be seen by
the government
and society as only the beginning of intensive, multi-dimensional efforts to
turn Kazakhstan into a truly digital state. To effectively achieve this goal,
the government
will develop a unified conceptual document on digitalization and AI, Digital Qazaqstan, which will consolidate
all initiatives and projects into a nationwide strategy. At the same time, the
deep digital transformation of the country is ultimately a path to improving
the lives of our citizens,» Tokayev said.
Digital technologies are changing the global labor
market. The demand for specialists who can work with AI is increasing worldwide.
In Kazakhstan, the AI-Sana program has already been launched, aimed at engaging
up to 100,000 students in high-tech projects. Skill development, Tokayev noted,
should start from school.
