Kazakhstan is implementing advanced digital solutions in healthcare alongside countries such as South Korea, the U.S., and Brazil. For example, AI technologies are being used at an oncology center in Almaty to diagnose diseases at an early stage. In ultrasound devices, the system acts as a digital assistant, helping doctors detect pathologies. The program analyzes images in real time, assessing tissue density as well as the shape and boundaries of tumors. The technology is based on a large-scale database containing thousands of tumor images with detailed descriptions of their characteristics. Plans now include training the neural network to diagnose liver cancers.
«Artificial intelligence remembers every
detail. It notices things that doctors might overlook and can
highlight small but important details.
However, AI cannot determine with certainty whether a tumor is malignant - neither 100% nor even 99%. It simply provides
us with a second opinion,» noted Iliya Zakiryanov,
ultrasound diagnostics physician at the Consultative and Diagnostic Department
of the Oncology Center.
