Kazakhstan’s state budget receives about 4.5 trillion tenge in first quarter of 2024

Today, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received the country’s Finance Minister Madi Takiyev, who reported that the state budget revenues for the first quarter of 2024 reached 4.5 trillion tenge. Besides, he noted that it was proposed to reduce budget expenditures by more than 300 billion tenge. These funds will be redirected to activities with maximum economic returns. The Head of State was briefed on the modernization of customs infrastructure on the customs border of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). The project implementation will increase the capacity of checkpoints up to six times and reduce processing time by half, while also enabling round-the-clock examination of goods and vehicles in online mode. The reconstruction is scheduled to be completed by year-end. President Tokayev instructed the Minister of Finance to take measures to ensure budget balance and improve tax and customs administration through digitalization.
