Production of advanced medication
for treating cardiovascular diseases will be launched in Kazakhstan from 2025.
This is a joint project of domestic and Finnish pharmaceutical companies. The
announcement was made during a meeting of the Kazakh-Finnish intergovernmental
commission on trade and economic cooperation in Astana. Additionally, the
parties have signed a partnership agreement to introduce advanced technologies
for the production of equipment for sewage treatment facilities in Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, the delegation led by Finnish Minister for Foreign Trade
and Development Ville Tavio expressed intentions to broaden cooperation across
other areas as well, noting that the country has huge potential for this. It is
noteworthy that in 2023, the trade turnover between the two countries amounted
to $208 million, while investments from Finland into Kazakhstan’s economy
reached $409 million.
“It’s my first-time visiting
Kazakhstan, and I am happy to lead a business delegation here with the very
prominent businesses that can work with Kazakhstan in the fields of mining,
forestry, energy and cleantech. I think we have good expectations for more
Finnish-Kazakh cooperation in many fields of businesses. And the government of
Finland is focusing very much on the Central Asian market now,” said Tavio.
