Kazakhstan is reviving the legendary Aport apple. The
project has already begun in the Almaty region, where 25,000 trees will be
planted across 110 hectares. The program is set to run from 2025 to 2028, with the
first harvest expected in eight years. With the use of modern agricultural
technologies, yields could reach up to 100 kilograms per mature tree. Experts
say the return of the Aport apple will open up new opportunities for farmers
and attract investment to Kazakhstan’s agricultural sector. The Kazakh variety
is known for its large size, excellent taste, and long shelf life—lasting well
into the next season.
