Kazakhstan records growth in manufacturing output

Kazakhstan is strengthening its position in the manufacturing industry. Last year, the sector’s share in GDP surpassed that of the mining industry for the first time, reaching almost 12.5%. In the first nine months of 2025, manufacturing output grew by more than 6%, totaling nearly 21.5 trillion tenge. The main driver of growth is mechanical engineering, where output increased by almost 10%. The industry’s development plans are ambitious. This year, the country plans to produce 149,000 vehicles. New enterprises have been launched - a plant producing several Chinese car brands has opened in Almaty, and by the end of the year, production of a popular South Korean car brand will also begin. In the mining and metallurgical sector, the country maintains leading positions in the production of beryllium, tantalum, niobium, and rhenium, and is among the few suppliers of titanium and scandium to the global market. Special emphasis is placed on the digital transformation of the industry and the implementation of AI technologies.

«Since January of this year, a unified subsoil use platform has been launched, automating 22 public services in the field of geology and subsoil use. Over the next three years, it is planned to conduct research and develop modern geological maps of an area covering 100,000 square kilometers. Around 240 billion tenge has been earmarked for the exploration of this territory, including seismic surveys of sedimentary basins and the creation of geological infrastructure,» noted Kazakh Vice Minister of Industry and Construction Rakhymzhan Issakulov.
