Kazakhstan and North Macedonia are expanding their trade and economic ties. Prospects for cooperation were discussed in Skopje by Kazakh Minister of Trade and Integration, Arman Shakkaliyev, and North Macedonia’s President, Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova. During a meeting with North Macedonia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Timčo Mucunski, particular attention was given to creating conditions for the sustainable growth of bilateral trade. The Business Council is expected to serve as a key instrument in boosting trade turnover. An agreement to establish the council was signed at a business forum attended by government officials and business representatives from both countries. The parties also signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on attracting investment and promoting exports. Projects focused on trade development, transit routes, and industrial cooperation drew significant interest. As a result of the forum, contracts worth 500 million tenge were signed.
«Kazakhstan’s export
potential exceeds $320 million. Kazakhstan serves as a key transport and
logistics hub connecting Europe and Asia. In this regard, the Trans-Caspian
International Transport Route plays an important role. North Macedonia’s
strategic geographic position enables it to become an important link in the
European segment of this route,» Shakkaliyev said.
