Kazakhstan has celebrated Gratitude Day. The date was not
chosen by chance. Established on March 1, 2016, it commemorates the formation
of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan (APK). Today, the country is home
to over 120 nationalities. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev extended his
congratulations to the people of Kazakhstan, emphasizing that unity,
solidarity, and selfless love for the homeland have helped the nation overcome
the most difficult trials and challenges. These values have become an integral
part of the national identity. On this day, all Kazakh citizens expressed
gratitude to their loved ones, relatives, and country.
«Today, we can express our gratitude to one another and
extend our well wishes. In the 1930s, 1940s, and 1990s, many people came here
not by choice, and the Kazakh people welcomed them with bread and kindness.
This day is one of the moments when we can express our gratitude to the Kazakh
people as a whole. Like many others in Kazakhstan, we too have found ourselves
here by fate. The Kazakh people welcomed us with warmth and brotherly kindness.
The Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan (APK) plays a unifying role. On the
occasion of our 30th anniversary, around a thousand events are being held
across Kazakhstan in all Houses of Friendship,» noted Zakirzhan Kuziyev, member
of the Senate, the Upper House of the Kazakh Parliament.
«I have been living here for 70 years, and I am grateful to
Kazakhstan and its people for this. To everyone who lives here, thank you very
much!»
«I am grateful to my country and my people. I want to
express my gratitude to my wife for always being by my side from the very
beginning, for our children, our family, and for the good life we share.»
«My ancestors told me the following story: During the famine
in Russia, they were on their way to Tashkent but, for some reason, got off in
Arys. There, they were given a goat and a barn. My father was still alive at
the time, and we searched through letters, trying to find the people who had
helped them survive. We have boundless gratitude! If they ever need anything, we
will now be the ones to help.»
