Kazakh President congratulates women on March 8

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated women on International Women’s Day during a ceremonial meeting at the Akorda presidential palace. He expressed his gratitude for their contributions to society and emphasized their vital role in preserving family values, national traditions, and raising future generations. The Head of State also highlighted that Kazakh women have demonstrated heroism, strength of spirit, and patriotism throughout history. Among them are the glorious rulers Tomiris and Bopai Khanum, the legendary mothers Domalak Ana, Zere, and Ulpan, as well as the heroic daughters of the Great Steppe - Aliya, Manshuk, and Khiuaz. Their names are inscribed in golden letters in the chronicles of the country’s history.

«By raising a new generation of Kazakh citizens with sharp intellects and clear minds, you contribute to the progress of our country. Many of the nation’s achievements are the result of the hard work of our remarkable girls and women. Today, at the Akorda palace, we honour women who are highly skilled professionals in various fields and make valuable contributions to the country’s development. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all of you!» Tokayev said.

The Head of State emphasized that the well-being of women and children is directly linked to the country’s future. The state pays special attention to protecting and comprehensively supporting women. Family support centers are being established, and a national support model for mothers with many children is being developed. These measures are already yielding results, as the number of large families in Kazakhstan is on the rise. President Tokayev noted that today women are actively working in various fields. They make up more than half of the country’s civil servants, as well as 70% of employees in the education and healthcare sectors. Many Kazakh women hold key positions in business, the military, and law enforcement agencies. Female athletes proudly represent the country on the international stage.

«Creative energy and determination help you bring the boldest ideas to life. You demonstrate a strong civic stance and genuine engagement in social activities, implementing important initiatives and socially significant projects that benefit the people. You approach every task with responsibility and always strive for positive results,» Tokayev added.

At the conclusion of the event, the Head of State presented state awards to women who have made a significant contribution to the country’s development. For the first time, the titles of ‘Honored Builder of Kazakhstan’ and ‘Honored Industrial Worker of Kazakhstan’ were awarded.
