The final round of the
national Qazdatathon competition took place in Astana. This year’s data
analytics competition
attracted a record
number of participants — 42 teams, 10 of which advanced to the finals. The
projects covered a wide range of socioeconomic indicators, including one that
examined how effective time management influences citizens’ quality of life.
«After receiving pre-prepared data, our programs conduct statistical analysis. There are specific models and calculations used in the social sciences, and by applying them, we can draw accurate, well-founded conclusions,» said Sanzhar Kalkanbai, research fellow at Maqsut Narikbayev University.
The
winners of this year’s Qazdatathon received cash prizes from an impressive
prize fund, along with a grant to study at the School of Sociologists.
