Today, Kazakhstan launched its agricultural census, which
will be conducted online through September. As in previous years, digital
technologies are being used - according to the Bureau of National Statistics,
this will help speed up data processing. Agricultural producers can complete
the questionnaire independently on the Sanaq.Gov.kz website. The census aims to
cover over 20,000 enterprises and around 280,000 farming households, as well as
individual entrepreneurs. Respondents in rural areas can access self-service
zones set up at local government offices and district statistics departments.
Approximately 2,700 such locations have been established across the country. A
24/7 contact center has also been launched to answer any questions related to
the census. The campaign is being held as part of the 10th World Programme for
the Census of Agriculture and follows FAO recommendations.
«Two versions of the questionnaire will be available on the
website: one for agricultural enterprises and another for households with a
garden, vegetable plot, or livestock. The questions cover land use,
availability of equipment, livestock management, infrastructure, agricultural
production and sales, as well as working conditions. The Sanaq.Gov.kz website
features built-in guidance, detailed video instructions for completing each
section of the questionnaire, and a specially designed chatbot called Sanaq-Myrza,
which provides answers in a user-friendly format,» said Assel Shauyenova,
Deputy Head of the Bureau of National Statistics.
According to the Bureau, those who do not complete the
online questionnaire will be able to participate offline. Specially trained
interviewers will visit them. Preliminary census data is expected in December,
with final results scheduled for 2026.
